Carla Ness had been the realtor for me and my two daughters ten years ago, when we moved to the Pioneer Valley, and again recently, when we exchanged our "House in the Woods” for a “Central Location”, in order to start a pedestrian life. It is hard to find a suitable house close to the city center: It took almost a year and we looked at dozens of homes and apartments. Carla was always there, giving advice, pointing out the good and the bad features, finding an answer to all questions, being infinitely patient and never pushy. Then, we had to sell our home. We spent approximately four years working with Lisa Palumbo, trying to find the right house. As a lesbian couple, we needed to find someone who was gay-friendly and could successfully assist us in our move from Germany to Western Massachusetts. As a family of four, which includes kids and pets, we had very particular needs and wants. Lisa took all of them into consideration. She was in constant contact with us overseas via email and long-distance phone calls. She knew us so well just from our conversations that we totally trusted her judgment and were never disappointed in the service she provided.

Lisa would visit houses for us that we saw online and would send us a virtual tour based on the digital photos she took. When it came to the house we ended up buying, she was ever vigilant in dealing with every situation that came up that we were just too far away to deal with. Lawyers, the seller, the seller’s realtor, putting in a new septic system, having the chimney cleaned, the house inspection — she dealt with all of this in our absence and “virtually” held our hands to help us get through the process. She set up appointments for us to speak to “experts” who explained every detail of the septic system and the house-inspection report.

Afterwards, she even lent us furniture because ours was on a ship for six weeks. From beginning to end, she was there for us and we feel very lucky and fortunate to have met and worked with Lisa Palumbo.

We were very happy with Kelly Warren’s service as our realtor. She helped us with every aspect of purchasing our new home. It starts with the search for the right location and neighborhood. Lisa Palumbo's patience, knowledge and wisdom was invaluable in our 10-month search for a home. She never made us feel pressured to act; in fact, Lisa was often the voice of reason as we competed in a very crazy real estate market. My wife, Kate, and I would like to pass along our experiences with our realtor, Holly Young, in our recent condo sale in Northampton. A few years prior we had put the unit up for sale and we chose Holly to be our realtor. We had met her at an open house and liked her very much. Holly got us a full price offer the first day.  However, we then decided not to sell the unit.  Rather than being upset or disappointed, Holly assured us that it was fine with her and that she understood.  Thus this year when we decided to put our condo back on the market we contacted Holly. Over the years we have bought and sold properties in Massachusetts, Florida and North Carolina and thus have dealt with many realtors.  Holly has been by far the best. She is extremely professional while adding a wonderful personal touch.  She thinks ahead and anticipated everything we would need to get the sale closed.  In fact she showed up for the smoke detector inspection by the fire department with an extra carbon monoxide detector in case the fire department wanted another CO detector installed.  Holly navigated the sometimes choppy waters with the buyers' agent and the buyers in a truly professional yet firm matter. Words cannot express our thoughts properly but simply put she is the best. Some day we hope to be back living in Northampton.  Rest assured Holly will be our realtor.

We worked very successfully with Maureen to buy our retirement home. We placed an offer on one place that was a dream come true, but turned out at inspection to have a lot of problems. She was patient with us throughout the process, provided a lot of valuable information from her background as a builder, and we finally decided to back out. She helped us find another property and she was again patient and provided excellent guidance about repairs needed. We even used her to find a tenant to live in our house for a few years before we retire. We would use her again if we needed to and definitely recommend her to others. She was a pleasure to work with.

Ellen succeeded in selling our home in a very challenging buyer’s market. Out of over 30 homes listed in the small town of Conway, ours was one of a handful that sold in 2013. On more than one occasion we felt that the buyer’s agent was making unreasonable demands ( and vice versa.) We were ready to walk away from the process, but Ellen remained diplomatic. If we had failed to sell our home last fall we would have faced significant hardship. Ellen was patient throughout the long process. She accommodated a few unusual requests on our part.
