Carla Ness, Broker

Carla Ness: Co-owner of Delap Real Estate, Broker of Record, Member of the Massachusetts and National Associations of Realtors and Member of the Realtor Association of Pioneer Valley.

I have been selling real estate in the Pioneer Valley  since 1995 and have seen many changes in the market. Through the years, I’ve gained a wealth of experience helping many satisfied clients buy or sell a home.  Early on in my career, I rapidly became a top selling agent because of my hard work, dedication to my clients,  and quickly learning about all that is involved in today’s complicated real estate transactions.   My experience helps me remain a very successful agent, I still continue to learn as much I can about real estate, not just the rules and regulations, but all aspects that can be helpful to my clients. I keep a close eye on what is happening in the Pioneer Valley and continue to study.  I listen closely to my clients needs and remain dedicated to helping them make the right real estate decisions that will enhance their lives, both financially and emotionally.

When Dennis Delap asked me in 2005 to join his new agency, I was honored to be one of the first people he asked.  I accepted immediately and have enjoyed working with this fabulous team ever since.  Dennis sadly passed away in October of 2012 leaving the business to the agents.  In 2013, when we officially inherited the business, my fellow Realtors at Delap Real Estate voted me to be our new broker.  I am grateful for their high opinion of me, my mediations skills and ability to keep a level head if things are difficult. They know I listen well and treat everyone fairly.  We all miss Dennis greatly.  I don’t fell that I can fill his shoes but I plan to run the company the way he would with honesty and compassion for all.  I also have the support and advice of my fellow co-owners.  We run the company as he did as a cooperative effort.

My husband, Christopher Bagg, and I live in Cummington. We love being out in the woods and in our garden.  We ski, bike, hike, swim and love exploring all the back roads and trails.  We are board members for Greenwood Music Camp in Cummington.  I’m a Historical Commissioner for the town and help run our fabulous museum, The Kingman Tavern.  I studied art and history in college and taught social studies at the middle school level before becoming a real estate agent.  My background and interest in art and history continue to inform me as a Realtor.  I have extensive knowledge of antique homes.  My creative eye and experience can help find a true  “diamond in the rough” and other real estate gems.

Teaching taught me good communication and mediation skills. Buying or selling real estate can be a very emotional process. Sometimes buyers and sellers find themselves in antagonistic positions. It is good to have someone who is looking out for your best interest without emotional involvement, and who can clearly explain both sides of an issue to help you make an informed decision.  As an experienced Realtor who cares, I’m a good choice to be that someone.

Whether you are buying or selling, you need an experienced dedicated agent whom you can trust. Let me be that agent.  I will not disappoint you. Let my knowledge of the market, communication skills and creative ability work for you.  Please call or email, carla@delaprealestate.com  with any of your real estate questions or needs. I’d love to help.

  • Carla Ness was terrific in helping us relocate to the Pioneer Valley. She has a keen understanding of architecture and old homes as well as accurate information on schools, taxes and zoning.  Her knowledge in technical matters is phenomenal.  She was able to point out small, but important details that often aren't revealed until home inspection.  Her contractor recommendations, several of whom we have used, were excellent.

  • I have only praise for Carla. She is really nice, outgoing, extremely knowledgable, always punctual, full of humor, and when there was a problem, she would instantly find a joke to match and help with her optimism. She is a wonderful professional realtor, whom you will love and trust as my wife and I do.

  • Carla Ness had been the realtor for me and my two daughters ten years ago, when we moved to the Pioneer Valley, and again recently, when we exchanged our "House in the Woods” for a “Central Location”, in order to start a pedestrian life. It is hard to find a suitable house close to the city center: It took almost a year and we looked at dozens of homes and apartments. Carla was always there, giving advice, pointing out the good and the bad features, finding an answer to all questions, being infinitely patient and never pushy. Then, we had to sell our home. At the Open House, we had 4 offers. We accepted the check offer that was $2000.00 over the asking price. What more do you want

  • Hi Carla, We stopped by to say we love our house at 29 Jackson and thank you for all you help finding and getting it. Best,

  • Carla Ness and I have a working relationship that goes back many years. I have a great respect for her market sense and sharp eye for value when it comes to investing in real estate. Carla and I have been through 5 purchase and sale situations and I have always felt confident doing business with her. I would add that she is very patient (I looked at a lot of property before I purchased) and a great listener. The next time I am in the position to invest in property, Carla will be my first and only choice.

  • Thank you so much for all that you have done for Karen and me to make this sale a successful one. Your dedication was obvious and appreciated. I don't think this would have happened without you!!! We were so lucky to have met you at the Magri house and our judgement about your skills were so right. You are an excellent agent and we hope you continue on helping others like us make their dreams come true for many years to come.

  • Thank you so much for all the help & support you offered during that supreme effort you made to sell my house. You went above & beyond the call of duty and I am so glad to not own it now. Especially after I heard of the more than 2 feet of snow you all got! I so appreciate everything you did!

  • I want to thank you for all the time and energy you put in to help me buy the 2 Ring Road house.  Your "Hilltowner" knowledge was invaluable Mostly, though, I want to say thanks for your patience and kindness.  I know it was a long, drawn out process.

  • I wanted to thank you so much for all your efforts to sell the property at 298 Williamsburg Road.  Your price point was right on, and we were able to almost get the asking price, which was great given the market conditions.  Although I suppose it is typical for real estate transactions, it seemed like there were more than the usual number of details to work out and attend to.  We're delighted.
